ISM FINGER LAKES SCHOLARSHIP AWARD PROGRAM
Each year ISM Finger Lakes Region (formerly NAPM) awards scholarships to eligible students from regional colleges. This year ISMFLR will grant Scholarships of $1,000.00. Dependent children of affiliate members, attending any two-year or four-year college and meeting the criteria, may also apply by contacting any Scholarship committee member or via the website www.ismflr.org. It is our goal to become known as an organization in the community that supports education and encourages students to look into the field of purchasing for a rewarding career. By sponsoring the "Buy-Sell" Picnic each year in June, our affiliate raises the funds required to make these awards. To be eligible for a scholarship, a student must meet the following criteria:
1. Full time student (at least a sophomore)
2. Minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0
3. Business related major
4. Expressed or demonstrated interest in the Purchasing profession
5. Willingness to attend ISM Finger Lakes Region Scholarship Awards dinner meeting in March 20089
The Scholarship committee consists of a committee chairperson and two ISMFLR members who will personally interview each candidate in early February 2009, at which time a student picture will be taken. All candidates applying for a scholarship will become Academic Members of ISM. Members are entitled to attend monthly ISM Finger Lakes Region meetings, receive a monthly newsletter and receive the publication "Inside Supply Management". Academic Members are not responsible for paying dues to the organization.
The Scholarship Committee shall hold the right of selection approval. Application for this scholarship may also be made electronically via the ISMFLR website, www.ismflr.org . The Scholarship Committee shall hold the right of selection approval. The selection process shall not require any evidence of financial need. Previous applicants may reapply for ISM scholarship, however, previous winners may not. Application for this scholarship may also be made electronically via this website.
